Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers welcome the Colorado Rockies to American Family Field on Saturday, July 25, with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 PM ET. Robert Gasser gets the ball for Milwaukee against Colorado right-hander Ryan Feltner. With the second half of the season underway, every game carries weight in the NL Central standings, and this home date gives the Brewers a chance to stack wins in front of their fans. Tune in on Brewers.TV Presented by Potawatomi Sportsbook or catch the radio call on WTMJ 620.

Probable Pitchers: Robert Gasser vs. Ryan Feltner

Robert Gasser draws the Saturday start for Milwaukee. The left-hander has been part of the Brewers' rotation build as the club looks to solidify its pitching depth for the stretch run. Gasser's development has been one of the more closely watched storylines in the Milwaukee rotation, and a strong outing against Colorado would be a meaningful step.

Ryan Feltner gets the nod for the Rockies. Colorado has faced significant challenges this season, and Feltner will be tasked with keeping the Brewers' lineup in check on the road. The Rockies travel without the altitude advantage that can obscure pitching numbers at Coors Field, which could work in Milwaukee's favor.

Keys to Watch for the Brewers

Yelich and Chourio Setting the Table

Christian Yelich leads off as the designated hitter with Jackson Chourio right behind him. That 1-2 combination at the top of the order gives Milwaukee a legitimate on-base threat to set the table for William Contreras hitting cleanup. If Yelich and Chourio get on base early, the Brewers can put pressure on Feltner before the lineup turns over.

Gasser Commanding the Strike Zone

The biggest key for Milwaukee is simple: Gasser needs to work efficiently and keep the Rockies' lineup from stringing together big innings. Away from Coors Field, Colorado's offense can look different, but the Brewers can't afford to let walks and free passes snowball against any opponent at this stage of the season.

Middle of the Order Delivering

Brice Turang batting third signals the trust manager Pat Murphy has placed in the second baseman's bat this season. With Contreras behind him, Turang needs to be a bridge between the top of the order and the cleanup spot. Extra-base hits from that three-four combination could be the difference in this one.

Prediction

The Brewers have the lineup depth and the home-field edge working in their favor on Saturday. Gasser will need to be sharp, but facing a Rockies road lineup without the Coors Field backdrop is a manageable situation. Milwaukee takes this one at American Family Field, 5-2.
