Preview
The Milwaukee Brewers wrap up their series against the Texas Rangers on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at American Family Field with first pitch set for 2:10 PM ET. Dustin May gets the ball for Milwaukee opposite Texas right-hander Kumar Rocker in what shapes up as an intriguing pitching matchup. The Brewers send out a familiar-looking lineup anchored by Jackson Chourio batting cleanup and Christian Yelich in the DH spot, making this an afternoon worth tuning into on WTMJ 620 or Brewers.TV Presented by Potawatomi Sportsbook.
Starting Pitchers: Dustin May vs. Kumar Rocker
Dustin May draws the assignment for Milwaukee in the series finale. May came to the Brewers with an established reputation as a pitch-mix arm capable of generating weak contact, and this start will be a chance for him to add to his resume on the home mound. For Texas, Kumar Rocker takes the ball — a hard-throwing right-hander who has continued to develop at the big-league level. Neither pitcher's current season ERA or win-loss record was available at time of publication, so the matchup is best evaluated on the merits of what we see Sunday afternoon rather than leaning on a number that may already be outdated.

Keys to Watch in Sunday's Game
Can May Keep the Rangers Lineup in Check Early?
Starting pitchers who get through the first three innings without damage tend to dictate the tone of afternoon games at American Family Field, where crowd energy builds quickly. May's ability to establish his fastball and work off it with secondary stuff will be the first thing to monitor from pitch one. If he can keep Texas off the bases in the first two frames, the Brewers' defense — typically solid up the middle with Turang at second and Ortiz at short — should take care of the rest.
Chourio and Yelich as the Heart of the Order
With Jackson Chourio batting fourth and Christian Yelich slotted fifth as the designated hitter, the Brewers have legitimate middle-of-the-order pop capable of doing damage against any pitching staff. Rocker will need to be sharp in those at-bats. How he handles Chourio in particular — a young outfielder with developing power — could be the defining sequence of his afternoon.
Turang Sets the Table at the Top
Brice Turang leading off puts a contact-oriented, athletic second baseman in position to set the table early and often. If Turang can work counts against Rocker and find his way on base, it creates immediate pressure and puts the middle of the lineup in scoring position situations in the first inning.
Prediction
This is a good spot for the Brewers at home on a Sunday afternoon. May has the profile of a pitcher who can control a game at American Family Field, and the Milwaukee lineup has enough depth from top to bottom — Frelick in right, Hamilton at third, Ortiz at nine — that Texas cannot simply navigate around two or three hitters. Give me the Brewers in this one, 4-2, with May delivering six innings of quality work and Chourio providing the big swing in the middle innings.
